Networking for Peace Peace works when peace makers network -- is more than saying hello and greeting like minded people. It is more than querying people about what they do and who they are. It is more than doing individual tasks leading towards a common goal. Networking for Peace moves those involved towards a common goal of reducing violence and conflict through the concept of working in cooperative and collaborative teams. Teams such as bowling, swimming, tennis, track and field, wrestling, etc., are comprised of a number of people who excel in their sport. The individual does their best to achieve their best. Both the individual and, in some cases, the team, are honored for individual successes. Success usually is focused on individual accomplishments. Teams such as baseball, basketball, football, hockey, soccer, etc., are comprised of a number of people, each skilled in the sport, each with a focus on a particular task to ensure the success of the team. Each play requires members of the team to know what they are supposed to do and what to expect of other team members. When events cause changes to the plan, they know how to collaborate to achieve the desired goal. Individual success is secondary to team success. Networking for Peace is creating teams in which all participants cooperate and collaborate to reduce violence and conflict in our families, our communities, and our society.
